HaliUkes started as a brewery taproom. When two staff members hung their ukuleles on the wall behind the bar and taproom customers subsequently bought them we knew what we had to do. Purchasing well priced ukuleles and marketing them on our wall has led to relationships with several ukulele manufacturers and a few firsts. HaliUkes is the premier Canadian location for Flight Ukuleles, Outdoor Ukuleles and Worth Strings. We're dedicated to introducing the world of ukulele to Canada.

Soprano, Concert & Tenor Ukuleles…
GCEA gCEA
Soprano, Concert and Tenor scale ukuleles are available in standard ukulele tuning - commonly referred to as reentrant tuning - with the top string tuned higher than the 3rd string (gCEA). This tuning creates the signature bright ukulele sound. For warmer sound with the same tuning option, the top string can be tuned an octave lower (GCEA). The length of the neck and therefore the string lengths are referred to as Soprano (smallest), Concert (medium) and Tenor (long). Longer necks have more notes available to creative ukulele players.
Lanikai Mahogany Baritone…
DGBE
Baritone ukuleles have a deep rich sound similar to a small body guitar. Tuned DGBE, a baritone ukulele is actually a guitar with the two top strings removed. If you are familiar with guitar chords, you will be familiar with a baritone. Even with a baritone, you can enjoy playing classic ukulele tunes by placing a capo on your 5th fret (works for a guitar too ). For ukulele players wanting the bigger sound but not the alternative tuning, strings are available for either high or low G standard tuning.
Goldtone Fretless Microbass…
EADG
Bring the bass! Ukulele players looking for a low end boost can bring it with a uBass. Tuned identically to a standard 4-string bass and available fretted or fretless, any bass player can confidently join your ukulele club and fit right in. Bass strings tend to produce lower audible volume and most uBass models come equipped with an active pick-up system to plug into an amplifier.
ADGCEA EADGBE
When four strings just aren’t enough and a guitar is just a little too big, a guitalele (guitarlele) may be what you need. In it’s ukulele tuning, a guitalele adds a low A and D string and is structured like a guitar with a capo on the fifth fret. For a deeper tone, a baritone scale guitalele tuned EADGBE is very much a mini guitar.
